OTT, Linear, & FAST Channels

Whether you’re launching from scratch or migrating an existing operation, here’s how BMG approaches each platform.

Linear Channels

Traditional 24/7 scheduled broadcast channels for cable, satellite, and live distribution—managed with full playout, transmission, and master control.

OTT Channels

Direct-to-consumer streaming channels delivered across apps and connected devices, including subscription and ad-supported models.

FAST Channels

Free, ad-supported streaming channels with scheduled programming—distributed across major FAST platforms and built for monetization.

Why Broadcast Management Group

Most Broadcast Partners Own One Piece. We Own the Whole Process

Launching a broadcast channel requires getting a lot of things right simultaneously — technology, staffing, facilities, playout infrastructure, content workflows, and ongoing operations. Most vendors solve one of those. BMG has been solving all of them for over 20 years, from a facility that’s already built and operational in Washington, DC.

20+ Years of Channel Operations

Two decades of hands-on experience launching and operating broadcast channels means you benefit from proven workflows and hard-won expertise from day one.

Scalable to a Multichannel Network

Launch one channel and scale to many. Our NOC and operational infrastructure is built to run multiple channels simultaneously without missing a beat or adding headcount.

Redundant, Reliable Infrastructure

Fully redundant power, network, and signal paths across our NOC and facilities ensure uninterrupted channel operations and protect your brand from costly downtime.

Experienced Broadcast Professionals

Our team of executive producers, producers, directors, engineers, editors, and operations staff are experienced broadcast professionals — not generalists. Your channel is in expert hands.

Built For Organizations That Need a Real Broadcast Operation

BMG works with organizations that are serious about building a channel. Here’s where we tend to fit best.

International Networks, U.S. Base of Operations

For international broadcasters looking to establish a U.S. presence, BMG’s Washington Broadcast Center removes the hardest part. You get immediate access to professional studios, a 24/7 NOC, full transmission infrastructure, and experienced local staff in DC without building your own U.S. facility.

News Channels, Cloud Production and Outsourced Operations

News channels do not need to match the overhead of larger station groups to compete. BMG’s cloud production workflows and outsourced broadcast operations deliver professional on-air quality at a fraction of the in-house cost.

Streaming and Media Companies, Studio-Based Programming

As platforms like Amazon, Apple, and Warner Bros. expand into live sports and studio programming, the need for consistent, high-quality production increases. BMG provides studios, control rooms, staffing, and operational support required to produce and scale studio-based shows without building internal facilities.

Sports Teams and Leagues, Direct-to-Consumer Channels

Teams and leagues are increasingly launching their own channels to control content and reach fans directly. BMG supports the full workflow from live production and content creation to playout, distribution, and ongoing channel operations through a single integrated platform.

What’s Inside our Washington Broadcast Center

BMG’s Washington Broadcast Center is a purpose-built, 62,000-square-foot broadcast facility designed to support 24/7 channel operations at scale. Built on a private cloud infrastructure and operated by our Network Operations Center, the facility combines state-of-the-art production technology with fully redundant systems, including power, cooling, and diverse fiber connectivity. Core systems include Grass Valley Kayenne K-Frame switchers, an Evertz EQX routing system, and a fully integrated control room and playout environment—giving clients access to a broadcast-ready ecosystem without building it themselves.

FAQs

BMG’s turnkey model means we provide and manage every component required to launch and operate your channel. This includes creative and show development, staffing and HR, operational management, the full technical infrastructure (NOC, playout, transmission, MAM), studio and control room facilities, and ongoing channel management. You focus on your content vision and brand; we handle everything else.

Launch timelines vary depending on the platform and scope of production, but BMG’s integrated infrastructure and experienced team significantly compress the typical launch cycle. Linear channel launches generally require 60–120 days for full ramp-up, while OTT and FAST channels can launch more quickly. We work with you to develop a realistic timeline based on your content readiness and distribution targets.

Yes. BMG’s integrated infrastructure supports simultaneous distribution across Linear, OTT, and FAST platforms from a single production and operations workflow. This means you can maximize audience reach across all platforms without building separate teams or duplicating infrastructure costs.

No. BMG’s turnkey model provides all facilities, technical infrastructure, equipment, and operational systems required to launch and run your channel. Our four broadcast studios, four control rooms, NOC, media asset management system, and transmission infrastructure are all available to your channel from day one. Production office space is also available on-site for your team.

BMG recruits, vets, trains, and manages all broadcast professionals required for your channel’s operations — including producers, directors, camera operators, audio engineers, editors, on-air talent, master control operators, and technical staff. We can staff your channel entirely, or integrate with your existing team as needed. Our staffing team has deep experience in broadcast labor requirements and operational management.

Absolutely. BMG’s model is built for long-term channel operations, not just launch. After going live, we continue to manage all aspects of your channel — from day-to-day programming and scheduling, through technical operations and transmission, to ongoing staffing and operational management. Our 24/7 NOC remains active throughout the life of your channel, ensuring continuous on-air reliability.
