Project Overview

Broadcast Management Group has supported the Schwab Network (formerly TD Ameritrade Network) since its inception, serving as a strategic partner and managed services provider across creative, technical, and operational functions. From initial consulting to full network deployment, rebranding, and facility expansion, BMG has played a central role in the evolution of this groundbreaking financial news platform.

The Schwab Network was the first direct-to-consumer OTT network launched by a corporation, and BMG’s integrated managed services have been essential in building and sustaining its growth. The network delivers real-time financial news and analysis for investors and is now fully connected to BMG’s proprietary cloud-based Network Operations Center.

The network has consistently proven to be an invaluable tool in connecting with its current and prospective customers, providing them with vital financial information, especially during times of market volatility.

Services Provided

BMG began its engagement in 2017 through a consulting assignment to help TD Ameritrade explore how to use visual communications to better connect with its global customer base. Following this engagement, BMG recommended launching a proprietary OTT channel, making them the first corporation to create its direct-to-consumer network.

From there, BMG was contracted to:

  • Design and build the network’s original production facility.
  • Staff and manage all aspects of production operations through a full-time managed services team.
  • Develop creative assets including show formats, graphic packages, and network branding.
  • Recruit and train on-air talent.
  • Oversee all editorial and operational workflows.
  • To develop a digital channel via YouTube that has grown viewership over 129% in the last 12 months

As the network expanded, BMG was again contracted to design and build a larger facility to accommodate growing production needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, BMG quickly adapted its facility and talent workflows to support full remote production, keeping the network on air without interruption.

In 2023, after Charles Schwab acquired TD Ameritrade, BMG was engaged to rebrand the network as The Schwab Network. This included:

  • A comprehensive rebranding package, including a new network logo and visual identity.
  • On-air promos and new graphic packages for all six daily shows.
  • The design and build of a new high-profile studio on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

Today, the Schwab Network remains fully integrated with BMG’s cloud-based Network Operations Center, where we provide:

  • Augmented staffing and operations support.
  • Technology-on-demand.
  • Disaster recovery and continuity planning.
