Develop the Strategy Behind the Show

A strong production starts with clear creative direction. BMG’s Creative Strategy & Show Development services help organizations turn ideas into structured shows, live events, and content formats that are built for real-world production.

From concept and format development to rundowns, talent strategy, brand integration, and pitch materials, we develop the creative foundation that takes a project from an idea to a production-ready plan.

What We Develop

Format & Concept Development

We develop the creative concept and format behind your show, aligning its audience, purpose, platform, and distribution goals. From studio series and live events to branded programs and social-first content, we tailor each strategy to the production while building flexibility across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.

Our process combines audience analysis, competitive research, format development, and content strategy to create a foundation for consistent, adaptable production.

Editorial Direction & Content Strategy

We help define what the show says, how it says it, and how the content serves the audience. This can include editorial positioning, recurring content pillars, segment development, story selection, interview and discussion frameworks, and the overall voice and tone of the program.

For recurring programming, we also consider how the editorial structure can evolve while maintaining a recognizable identity and audience experience.

Rundown Design

A rundown turns a creative concept into a workable production. We develop segment structure, pacing, transitions, storytelling beats, and audience-retention strategies while considering the practical requirements of live and studio production.

Our rundowns consider storytelling and execution, accounting for graphics, talent, remote contributors, commercial requirements, live elements, timing, and other production considerations from the beginning.

Talent Strategy

Talent plays a major role in defining the voice and personality of a show. We help establish on-air roles and develop how hosts, guests, analysts, contributors, and panels function within the format.

From host dynamics and interview structures to contributor roles and recurring segments, we develop a talent approach that supports the format, editorial direction, and overall audience experience.

Pitch & Pilot Materials

A strong idea needs to be easy to communicate. We develop the materials needed to present, evaluate, and advance a show concept, including show bibles, treatments, sample rundowns, sizzle concepts, look-books, visual references, set and graphic direction, and pilot production plans.

These materials give stakeholders a clear understanding of the format, creative direction, audience, and path to production.

Brand & Sponsorship Considerations

When brands or sponsors are part of the production, we consider those opportunities during show development so they can be incorporated naturally into the format rather than added after the creative direction has been established.

Creative Development Built for Production

Great ideas have to work in the real world. BMG’s creative, technical, and operational teams work together from the beginning and develop shows with both the audience experience and live execution in mind.

Creative decisions can be considered alongside production design, camera coverage, graphics, talent, remote contributors, technology, distribution, schedule, and budget, helping ensure the creative vision can move seamlessly from concept to production.

The result is a show that is designed to work live.

Case Study Highlight: Pro Tour

Developing a New Live Sports Broadcast Format

When The Pro Tour prepared to launch its inaugural broadcast season, BMG was brought in to help turn the league’s vision into a live broadcast format built for both the audience and the realities of producing golf across multiple venues.

BMG developed the live broadcast format and programming approach, shaping the structure, pacing, storytelling, and production elements that would define the viewer experience. Our creative team also developed the show’s visual identity for broadcast, including the graphics package and other on-air elements needed to establish a consistent look across the season.

Because BMG’s creative, technical, and operational teams worked together from the beginning, the format was developed alongside the production workflow required to execute it. Camera coverage, graphics, replay, drone coverage, wireless acquisition, REMI production, transmission, media management, and distribution were considered as part of one integrated production strategy.

The result was a repeatable live broadcast model that launched across five tournaments and five different golf venues during The Pro Tour’s inaugural broadcast season.
