At Broadcast Management Group Mark Ott is responsible for the day-to-day technical operations of its 11,000 square foot broadcast operations center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The facility includes multiple control rooms, extensive transmissions capabilities and will soon offer a large studio all centered around live and live to tape broadcast production services. Mark’s broadcast career started on the Jerry Springer show. Mark has always been a technology geek which helped get him in the door at the ABC affiliate in Dayton, Ohio and later to a stint working on programs for ESPN, ESPN2, TNN, and PBS.
It wasn’t long before an offer from Encore Productions to serve as both online and offline editor for the production company brought Mark to Las Vegas. His client list expanded globally to include television editing for Premiere Network in Germany and Sky Sports in the UK, among others.
Mark worked with clients from all over the world editing everything from commercial to corporate to narrative projects with a wide range of budget levels. His clients included United State Air Force Reserve, Taco Bell, Pepsi, Ford, Microsoft, ABC, MTV, VH-1, and Showtime. As Mark developed relationships with these clients, many of them urged him to go out on his own as an editor and encouraged him by offering their business if he did.
Mark has started and operated a number of successful businesses since 2002: The Ott Group, Las Vegas Legal Video, 702 Productions, and now 808 Post & Production.
Mark’s interests range from electronics to flying to all facets of broadcast as well as IP transmission and private aircraft. He is an active pilot with commercial, instrument, multi-engine, land and sea ratings. When not working, you can find him with his family, or hanging out at the airport talking airplanes with friends. Mark is also very active as a volunteer search-and-rescue pilot with the Civil Air Patrol and a volunteer pilot for Young Eagles.
