The project included the decommissioning of their current production systems, video servers, graphics systems, and outdated monitors in each control room.

It was crucial for PBS Las Vegas that the integration be completed as smoothly as possible, without interrupting their current projects and allowing them to stay on-air. Another requirement was for all cabling to look like it was part of the original facility build. During this upgrade, Broadcast Management Group’s engineering team also installed and commissioned a new media access management system, a new video file transcoding system, and new closed captioning software.

Deliverables
  • Upgrade (2) production control rooms with NewTek VMC video switchers
  • Integrate NDI technology into the existing HD/SDI infrastructure
  • Install and commission a new APACE Media Access Management system
  • Install and commission a new Telestream Vantage media transcoding system
  • Update the as-built CAD documentation to reflect the upgrades
  • Provide engineering and system integration support for the upgrades
  • Train the Las Vegas PBS staff on the use of the equipment
Project Overview

Broadcast Management Group’s system integration and engineering team provided local Las Vegas PBS station – KLVX – with engineering and integration support to upgrade their existing production control rooms with the latest technology, utilizing NewTek’s NDI IP production workflow solution. The project included the decommissioning of their current production systems, video servers, graphics systems, and outdated monitors in each control room.

It was crucial for PBS Las Vegas that the integration be completed as smoothly as possible, without interrupting their current projects and allowing them to stay on-air. Our engineering team designed the new proposed workflow, spec’d out the needed equipment, and procured all new production equipment needed to complete the project. Once all equipment arrived, our engineers completed the installation, cabling, and testing of the new system.
